Course Catalog
This is a description of courses offered at Euglena Academy. They have evolved during Euglena's 10-year history. Some have been taught multiple times; others are relatively newer. All have been offered at least once.
They have been grouped into three categories that coincide with our tri-fold focus: Gaia (geophysiology), life (biology) and systems sciences. However, those categories are not mutually exclusive; some may be related to more than one category. For example, Biology 1 addresses concepts from all three categories, but fits most logically into "life".
More importantly, by design, these linked courses contribute an important part of a story of Gaia, the main focus of Euglena Academy, and are necessary to understand climate change, the greatest challenge that our species has faced in its million year history.
Except for the first entry of each category, course numbers do not necessarily reflect the order in which they should or must be taken. However, in general, the highest number courses in each category should not be attempted too early in a student's program of study. Most courses above the first (#1) in each category have prerequisites - other courses that must be completed (for background) before beginning - or co-requisites - courses that can be taken at the same time. Prerequisites or co-requisites are listed at the end of each course description where relevant.
